Photography underwent a tremendous change beginning in the 1990s with the production of the first digital cameras and smart phones with cameras. All of the hours spent in the darkroom could be condensed to minutes on the computer. Adobe Photoshop became the program of choice for serious photographers. With all of its powerful features, photographers could now adjust color balance and exposure, control contrast, burn and dodge, choose print sizes, and much, much more. My darkroom became a storage area and my computer the center of my photographic life. Beautiful digital prints can be made with ink jet printers on a wide variety of papers. Hundreds of photo can be stored on a less than quarter sized memory chip. Cameras and phones with multiple controls can now do videos, as well as, still images. Photography is everywhere and practiced by everyone. It is truly a revolution.
